Mathias Lessort is one of the names that are very high in the transfer list of Olympiacos Piraeus for the upcoming season, according to Eurohoops sources. The 22-year-old French center is projected as the player who could replace Jamel McLean in the roster of the Reds.

Lessort is currently under a three-year contract with Serbian club Crvena Zvezda but the deal includes a EuroLeague buy-out that Olympiacos would be willing to pay in order to acquire him.

Crvena Zvezda signed Lessort in summer 2017, a bit after the player was selected with the 50th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Draft. With Red Star, Lessort played in his maiden EuroLeague campaign, posting 8.5 points and 5.7 rebounds while averaging 21 minutes over 30 games.

Lessort possesses characteristics that were missing from Olympiacos’ frontline in the previous season since he’s a big who can dynamically finish plays after the pick n’ roll on offense and also a very quick defender on the other end, able to guard multiple positions and also serve as a rim protector.
