After a series of underachieving results, Galatasaray Nef has decided to change the head coach and, according to Eurohoops sources, Andreas Pistiolis is the main candidate to replace Ekrem Memnun. The Greek tactician was officially appointed as the new head coach on Saturday, the team announced.

The sides were expected to sign a deal until the end of the 2022-23 season. Galatasaray has lost its chance to advance further in the Basketball Champions League after losing to JDA Dijon while they are in the seventh spot in Turkey with a 13-9 record.

Pistiolis has been working as an assistant coach at CSKA Moscow under Dimitris Itoudis and was also acting as the head coach against Anadolu Efes in Euroleague in the absence of Itoudis.

Prior to CSKA, where he landed in 2014, Pistiolis had also worked as an assistant in Teksut Bandirma and Panathinaikos.
