Jordan Sakho and Leo Cavaliere renew with Murcia and Strasbourg, Peristeri adds Elijah Mitrou-Long

The latest moves in the Basketball Champions League involve more than anybody else UCAM Murcia and SIG Strasbourg. The Spanish side, who ended the season right out of the ACB Playoffs while losing in the BCL Quarter-Finals against Unicaja Malaga, announced the contract extension of Jordan Sakho, who had 3.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in the last BCL.

Massimo Cancellieri’s team, instead, after announcing the additions of Phil Booth and Dan Akin, keeps Leo Cavaliere for the 4th straight season. The 27-year-old French player, who had 9.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in the latest Basketball Champions League campaign, extended his contract until 2024. SIG Strasbourg, moreover, announced the addition of the 24-year-old Sofiane Briki, who had 7.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in Pro B with Alliance Sport Alsace.

Finally, after deciding they will stick to the Basketball Champions League in the 2023-24 season as well, Peristeri added Elijah Mitrou-Long, who last played with Aris BC averaging 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in the Greek League. He’s Nazareth Mitrou Long’s younger brother.

Also, according to Eurohoops sources, Bahcesehir has a deal for next season with head coach Sinan Atalay, who already sat on that bench at the end of the 2022-23 season following Erhan Ernak’s resignment in March.
