After parting ways with Luca Banchi and welcoming Massimo Cancellieri to its bench, SIG Strasbourg is starting to make some moves. The French team, which ended the season in the Basketball Champions League in the Quarter-Finals losing against Telekom Baskets Bonn, announced the arrival of two players.

First, they added Phil Booth, who last played with Petkim Spor in Turkey putting up 14.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 13 BSL appearances. The 27-year-old, who started the season in the 7DAYS EuroCup and ABA League with Buducnost, played in the Basketball Champions League with Filou Oostende in the 2021-22 season.

Secondly, 25-year-old Dan Akin chose SIG Strasbourg to begin his professional career in Europe after averaging 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game with the Utah State Aggies. “I am very happy that Dan trusts us to launch his professional career. He is a player with a profile that fits perfectly with the DNA of our club. He will bring us hardness and energy which will help us enormously”, SIG Strasbourg’s sporting director Nicola Alberani commented on the new signing.

Staying in France, JDA Bourgogne Dijon also added somebody for its backcourt, as they announced the arrival of Cameron Hunt, who last played with Derthona in the Italian League Playoffs. The French team previously added the 23-year-old forward Dylan Affo Mama, who averaged 8.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game with Fos Provence in the LNB.

Elsewhere, the 30-year-old playmaker Adam Smith, after averaging 12.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in this year’s Basketball Champions League, remains with Jaume Ponsarnau in Surne Bilbao Basket in the 2023-24 season as well.
