After extending the contract of head coach Sito Alonso and Latvian forward Rodions Kurucs, UCAM Murcia announced a deal with Cuban forward Howard Sant-Roos.

Sant-Roos, 32, inked a contract lasting until the end of the 2025-26 season, the team announced on Wednesday. Joining the Universitarios in July, he returned to the Basketball Champions League and helped his new side reach the Round of 16 and defeat Hapoel Holon in Gameday 1 of Group L. Seven appearances so far in the 2023-24 installment of the BCL combined with stints at AEK and CEZ Nymburk upped his total to 48. In Spain’s Liga Endesa, his versatility on the court helped Murcia make it to 11-8.

After a positive start in Group J of the Round of 16, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg picked up 25-year-old American big Michael Hughes on Thursday. After starting his third professional campaign with CBet and participating in the Qualification Rounds of the Champions League, he moved to Germany’s easyCredit BBL and returned to FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition. He is also a veteran of nine appearances in the FIBA Europe Cup between the team based in Jovana and GGMT Vienna.

Promising upstart Mario Saint-Super was loaned from Unicaja to UBU Tizona on Tuesday. The MVP of the 2022 FIBA U16 European championship has been featured in eight BCL games with the Malaga outfit, including five this season. Seeking additional playing time to develop landed him in Spain’s LEB Oro.
