LA Lakers might have fallen short to Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday (108-91), though LeBron James was the one to win the night. James passed Kobe Bryant for the third position in the NBA all-time scoring list.

James needed 18 points to achieve that prior to the game, while he exited the court with 29 points. It was early in the third quarter when he overtook Bryant, in the home city of the latter.

LeBron has accumulated 33,645 points in his career and the only two players left for him to conquer on the all-time scoring list are No. 2 Karl Malone (36,928) and No. 1 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).

Kobe himself gave his regards to James for this great achievement with the following tweet.

It took James 16 seasons (and a half) to reach the third place, while Bryant had achieved that milestone through 20 seasons overall.
