NBA has been weighing its options on resuming the 2019-20 season and has been collecting opinions and information from all sides, including the GMs.

According to Shams Charania, the survey taken by GMs showed that 83% of them are for expanding the playoff field if the season resumes to 20 or more teams.

Non-playoff teams were split on resuming the season while 60% voted for a 72-game season and 53% of GMs chose advancing directly to playoffs. Resuming with a play-in received 27%.

Also, 53% voted to maintain traditional playoff seeding while 47% was for reseeding. Additionally, most GMs want the season to end no later than October 1 as well as to have a larger roster, that is, more flexibility to manage their roster.

Keep in mind that the GMs weren’t required to pick just one option but voted for various scenarios, all topics separately.
