Bill Simmons says Giannis should go and join Luka on the Mavs

There’s been much talk recently about the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo after the Milwaukee Bucks once again fell short in the postseason and The Ringer’s Bill Simmons noted on Jalen and Jacoby show that we might find out soon enough.

“We’re gonna know in the next month because he can sign the supermax. If he decides to wait on it then he’s leaving. If he’s staying, he’s signing the supermax. I assume he’s leaving or at least keeping his options open,” he said and added.

“Durant tore his Achilles, which is probably the worst injury you can have as a basketball player and still signed a max deal. So, no matter what happens to the Bucks next season, he is still getting a lot of money and he can pick where he wants to live.”

In case he decides to leave, Simmons believes joining the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic would be the best way to go.

“If I were him, I’d go Luka Doncic. He is gonna be the next guy. To me, it’s a no brainer. I’m getting to Dallas and winning titles. Not a title but four or five titles. I think Luka has a chance to be in the best six or seven players ever. He’s already the best 21-year-old player ever. You look at his stats now and if he can shoot 45% from three, five years from now, it’s a guy that can be 35, ten and ten every night.”
