LeBron James dropped 32 points in Los Angeles Lakers’ 109-98 loss to Brooklyn Nets to reach the 35,000-point career points milestone on Thursday on the night he was named as one of the two captains for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game.

The Lakers star became just the third player in NBA history with 35,000 points and more, after Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar on his 18th season in the league. He is also the youngest to reach this achievement, at 36.

Per NBA.com, James would need roughly 134 more regular-season games to catch Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) as the league’s all-time top scorer with his current average of 25 ppg, or more if his average declines through the season.
