Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton suffered a hyperextended left knee during Monday’s contest against the Boston Celtics and had to exit the court late in the third quarter.

With just over a minute to play in the period, Dennis Schroder missed a three-pointer and Middleton chased the rebound in traffic when he landed awkwardly on the floor.

The Celtics were holding a lead in the fourth quarter when the Bucks announced Middleton would not return to action. The Celtics finally emerged with a 107-103 victory.

“We’ll know more tomorrow [when we get in Milwaukee], but I think there’s some hope that it’s not serious,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters after the game. “But you’ve got to weigh it and give it time.”
