Luka Doncic scores 41 points, Mavs beat Warriors

Hours after winning the Player of the Month award, Luka Doncic put on a show to lift the Dallas Mavericks to a 122-113 win over the Golden State Warriors Thursday.

Doncic was one assist shy of a triple-double, scoring 41 points, 10 rebounds along with 2 steals and the Mavs overcame the Warriors for the second time in five days.

Jordan Poole paced the Warriors with 23 points while coming off the bench, Stephen Curry dropped 21 points and 9 assists and Andrew Wiggins added 17 points.

Trae Young stepped up clutch with a double-double of 39 points, 13 assists to help the Atlanta Hawks prevail over the Chicago Bulls with a 130-124 victory.

Bogdan Bogdanovic was a key part of the Hawks’ efforts, dropping 20 points, 4 rebounds from the bench, while Clint Capela also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Danilo Gallinari added 11 points and 5 rebounds to the winners’ efforts.

Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan both scored 22 points for the Bulls, while big man Nikola Vucevic tapped 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the team.

The Boston Celtics overcame a 38-point piece by Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant and held on to grab a 120-107 win at home. Jayson Tatum dropped 37 points to lift the Celtics to this win and Al Horford added 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists.

Tyler Herro scored 27 points for the Eastern Conference leaders Miami Heat in their 113-107 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on the road. Despite being without Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker, the Heat managed to bounce back and get an important win.

Kevin Durant finally returned for the Nets and posted a 31-point performance for his team Thursday, while Bruce Brown followed with 21 points.

Domantas Sabonis emerged as one of the key players of the Kings to help the team escape with a 115-112 victory against the San Antonio Spurs on the road. Sabonis dropped a double-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds, along with 6 assists for the Kings, while Harrison Barnes and DeAaron Fox led all scorers of the team with 27 and 26 points respectively.

Lonnie Walker scored 30 points to pace the Spurs, Dejounte Murray had 29 points and big man Jakob Poeltl added 16 points, 6 rebounds.
