German guard Justus Hollatz declares for 2022 NBA Draft

Hamburg Towers homegrown guard Justus Hollatz has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft, the team announced Tuesday.

The 20-year-old German made his 7DAYS EuroCup debut this season and has turned into a core piece of coach Pedro Calles’ rotation. He has started 8 of his total 12 games in the competition, averaging 8.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.2 rebounds across 20:13 minutes on the court. Hamburg has locked the 7th seed of EuroCup’s Group A and faces off title contenders Valencia in the eighthfinals (April 20, 20:30 CET).

Hollatz joined Hamburg in 2018 and was included in the senior team for the first time during the 2019-20 campaign, competing in 18 games, while he appeared in 33 contests in 2020-21.

He was named in Germany’s selection for the FIBA World Cup 2023 qualifiers in the last two windows (November 2021 – February 2022), averaging 10.3 points and 4.8 assists.

Joining him in the draft declaration are Serbian standout Nikola Jovic, French guard Malcolm Cazalon and Croatian forward Karlo Matkovic – all Mega Soccerbet prospects – as announced Monday.

The 2022 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
