The Los Angeles Lakers are set to miss Patrick Beverley for the next three games of the 2022-23 NBA Regular Season.

Beverley, 34, was suspended for three games, NBA announced Friday. He will miss the remainder of the three-game road trip, namely the matchups opposite the San Antonio Spurs Friday and Saturday, and the ensuing home affair versus the Indiana Pacers Monday.

The experienced point guard, established in the NBA over the last decade after launching his pro career in Europe, received some praise from teammates reacting to the incident marking the away loss against the Phoenix Suns Tuesday.

Per the press release: “Los Angeles Lakers guard Patrick Beverley has been suspended three games without pay for forcefully shoving Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton from behind and knocking him to the court, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operation. The suspension was based in part on Beverley’s history of unsportsmanlike acts.

The incident, for which Beverley was assessed a technical foul and ejected, occurred with 3:55 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 115-105 loss to the Suns on Nov. 22 at Footprint Center.

Beverley will begin serving his suspension Nov. 25 when the Lakers face the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center.”

The former Arkansas standout averaged 4.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per contest over 14 appearances, all starts, since being moved to the Lakers via trade before the start of the season.
