Cleared from a right ankle sprain, Sasha Vezenkov rejoined the rotation of the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. In his first appearance since February 9, he recorded five points, two rebounds, two steals, and one assist over ten minutes.

“It all depends on coach at the end, who he wants to play in rotation. Thank God, we got Sasha and Trey back,” leading teammate Domantas Sabonis referred to the reigning Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season MVP and Canadian Trey Lyles returning to action on the latest edition of NBA Sundays.

In a 57th consecutive double-double, the Lithuanian superstar combined 17 points with 11 rebounds and dished out six assists paving the way for the Kings in a home win against the Utah Jazz. “The vibes were good. Guys were knocking down shots, moving the ball,” he described the team effort.

Bouncing back from two straight defeats to the red-hot Dallas Mavericks, the Kings went up to 43-31 in the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season. Staying in Golden 1 Center, they welcome the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday, before moving to a four-game road trip.

“We need to go and take care of business. We got to have a good game going into the road trip,” Sabonis previewed the meeting with the Clippers, “It is going to be a good test. That is definitely a playoff team that plays playoff basketball.”

Sabonis, 27, is averaging 19.6 points, 13.6 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 0.9 steals per contest over 73 appearances this season.
