Ending the Regular Season in 2nd position, just behind the Boston Celtics, New York didn’t have luck finding the Philadelphia 76ers in 7th place at the end of this year’s 82-game Eastern Conference campaign.

However, they still made it, celebrating a 118-115 victory on the road in Game 6 of the First Round in the NBA Playoffs, getting to now face the Indiana Pacers in the Semi-Finals.

Becoming the first player since Michael Jordan in 1989 to close out a series with 40 or more points, Jalen Brunson had a brilliant end of this series with a double-double of 41 points and 12 assists. “No matter what the situation is we’re going to attack it. We’re going to know it’s always going to be a difficult situation no matter who you’re playing in this league”, he commented in the post-game.

He was also helped by British O.G. Anunoby, who went close to a double-double with 19 points and 9 rebounds, and Isaiah Hartenstein, who did the same with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

On the losing side, Joel Embiid ended the series with a double-double of 39 points and 13 rebounds, and will now prepare for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with the USA. Off the bench, Nicolas Batum contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds.
