Dallas continues to move forward with its new project. According to ESPN, the Mavericks have hired Masai Ujiri as their new Team President and Alternate Governor.

The former General Manager of the Toronto Raptors and one of the architects of their 2019 championship will try to build a new project in Dallas.

With Cooper Flagg, this season’s NBA Rookie of the Year, as their leader, the Mavericks seem to be finding a new path after trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers in February 2025.

Masai Ujiri, 55, finished his time with the Raptors in June 2025. In March 2026, he agreed to join the Toronto Tempo, one of the WNBA’s expansion franchises. Now he will be in charge of leading the Dallas Mavericks in the right direction, who finished this season in 12th place in the Western Conference with a record of 26 wins and 56 losses.
