With the business side catching up with him once more, this would mark the 13th time the captain of the senior national team of Germany has changed teams in his career, potentially placing him with his twelfth different franchise, besides being traded for the ninth time.
This rampant market speculation places the experienced guard in a familiar position, contrasting sharply with his recent stability on the court. After arriving via a midseason move, Schroder formed a deep connection with head coach Kenny Atkinson, who mentored him as a rookie in Atlanta. The guard served as a vital bench spark, averaging 7.2 points and 3.6 assists across 47 combined appearances between the 2025–26 Regular Season and 2026 NBA Playoffs, presented by Google.
