Greek night in Brooklyn was all about Giannis

By Nikos Varlas/ varlas@eurohoops.net

The Brooklyn Nets held their Greek night in the game against the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo made the most of it. He scored 33 points in his final game before his All-Star debut, Middleton had his strongest performance since returning from a ruptured left hamstring and the Milwaukee Bucks sent the Brooklyn Nets to the break on a 14-game skid with a 129-125 victory Wednesday night.

Greg Monroe added 25 points and Middleton finished with 20 in his fourth game after missing the first 50. Greek fans were all over the stands and stole the show from tennis player Genie Bouchard who watched from a courtside seat after keeping her word to a fan who asked for a date on Twitter if the Patriots won the Super Bowl. Bosnian Mirza Teletovic added one rebound for the winners, while Croatian Bogdan Bogdanovic had 14 points for the Nets.

German icon Dirk Nowitzki led the way in the third quarter, scoring 13 of his game-high 24 points, to help the Mavericks rally, he also had 10 rebounds for his 400th career double-double but the Pistons beat the Dallas Mavericks 98-91.
