Banvit improved its Turkish League record to 13 – 5 and stayed at the fourth place of the standings after defeating Galatasaray 79 – 64 in Bandirma.

Jordan Theodore and Gediminas Orelik scored 19 apiece, with the American guard adding 5 assists. The hosts also received a strong all-around boost by 20-year-old Tolga Gecim who finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

Few days after clinching its first road victory in EuroLeague vs Barcelona, Galatasaray lacked the strength to put a solid 40-minute fight, running out of juice in the fourth quarter. Vladimir Micov with 16 points, Alex Tyus who had 13 and Goksenin Koksal with 10, stood out for coach Ataman’s squad that is now sixth in the standings at a 11 – 7.

Earlier today (13/2) Darussafaka Dogus (12-6) survived a tough Gaziantep (8-10) away from home capturing the fifth place in the standings. Fenerbahce and Anadolu Efes still hold the top spot with a 16 – 2 record while Besiktas sits at the second place with two victories less.
