Real Madrid will not match the contract offered to Willy Hernangomez by Barcelona, as the Spanish Liga Endesa officially announced, and the Catalan club signed him with a three year deal.

The Spanish center is leaving the NBA, as Barcelona presented him with an offer sheet five days ago. However, Real Madrid had until midnight the right of “tanteo”, which is practically the Spanish version of free agency.

The “Whites” could match the contract and sign the player. However, they are focused on extending Walter Tavares’ contract and Hernangomez moved to Barcelona.

It was expected that Real Madrid will not match the offer, but until the last moment, everything could have happened.

After all, Willy is the MVP of Eurobasket 2022, a star for the Spanish national team, and a player of huge value to Spanish clubs. Plus, he already played for Real Madrid before moving to the NBA.
