Panathinaikos is on the verge of completing the signing of Valencia guard Brancou Badio, with the deal expected to be finalized in the coming days.
The 27-year-old Senegalese guard recently signed a contract extension with the Spanish club through 2029, but the agreement includes a €1.5 million buyout clause. Valencia’s intention is to keep Badio, although the club would be unable to prevent his departure should Panathinaikos activate the clause.
Once the move is completed, Badio will become Panathinaikos’ second addition of the offseason, following the arrival of center Moustapha Fall.
Badio was one of Valencia’s key performers during the 2025-26 EuroLeague season, averaging 11.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 40 appearances while shooting 33.6% from three-point range, 54.8% on two-pointers and 86.3% from the free-throw line.
He also played a decisive role against Panathinaikos in the EuroLeague quarterfinals. In the decisive Game 5, Badio finished with 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals, helping eliminate the eventual suitors from the competition.
