After Panathinaikos OPAP Athens defeated Gran Canaria in Greece, the Spanish team fell to a 1-2 record on the new Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.

Eurohoops talked to Gran Canaria’s Kim Tillie who talked about the game, the first games of the season, but also the historic first win against Barcelona Lassa, as well as his former team, Olympiacos Piraeus.

“We had a good win against Barcelona, our first win ever in the EuroLeague. We have to play with a lot of energy, we are a team with young talented players, but also some veterans. If we play with energy and together we can compete in the EuroLeague. We have to keep working, grow together and our goal is to compete and give teams hard time. It’s going to be difficult for teams to come and play in Las Palmas because they have difficult teams, we have good fans and a nice gym,” said the 30-year old about Gran Canaria’s season.

He also talked about his previous team, Olympiacos Piraeus and coach David Blatt’s new project: “They play good. Coach Blatt is doing a good job by getting this team together and managing the new players with the old guys.”
