Looking forward to the 2026-27 season and completing a huge roster addition, Galatasaray MCT Technic has secured a contract with veteran Canadian forward Dyshawn Pierre.
The deal was first reported by sports insider Alphan Coskun and confirmed by Eurohoops sources on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-6 forward brings an elite defensive pedigree and a championship resume back to Istanbul, where he previously enjoyed a multi-year stint in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi with Fenerbahce Beko.
Between 2020 and 2025, Pierre played for Fener, establishing himself as a fan favorite and a foundational piece of their roster. He transitioned to the VTB United League with UNICS after capturing the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague title at the end of the 2024-25 season, and he remains widely considered a top-tier defender across European basketball.
With UNICS currently in the Semifinals stage of the VTB Playoffs, the 32-year-old Ontario native has averaged 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game over 27 appearances, including 19 starts, in his 2025-26 journey.
By taking his talents to Galata, Pierre adds a versatile skill set on the court and immense continental experience to the locker room. He is a veteran of 145 appearances in the EuroLeague and 30 in the Basketball Champions League. His career highlights include a spot on the BCL All-Star Second Team during the 2019-20 season and lifting the FIBA Europe Cup trophy in the 2018-19 season.
This rich history of success spans earlier productive spells in Italy with Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari and Germany with Basketball Lowen Braunschweig.
