Cholet boosted their frontcourt on Friday by penning a deal with veteran Johnathan Williams as a medical replacement for injured Miralem Halilovic. The 31-year-old forward, who previously played 30 games in the NBA, returns to the Basketball Champions League after six appearances with Galatasaray during the 2020–21 season, reinforcing a lineup that has started the 2026–27 continental campaign with two straight wins. Under head coach Fabrice Lefrancois, the French club leads Group F and is heading to a home game against Spartak Office Shoes on October 28. Williams enters a rotation that includes Malcolm Cazalon, Mohamed Diarra, Digue Diawara, Amadou Fall, Tom Kasongo, Lynn Kidd, Nils Lobry-Pathouot, Noah Locke, Sitraka Raharimanantoanina, Luca Rapini, Tony Snell Jr., Aaron Towo-Nansi, and Jarrod West.
On the same day, Galatasaray MCT Technic confirmed recent Eurohoops reports to reshape their leadership and roster to turn things around after dropping their Group B opener. The club based in Istanbul officially named former player Manuchar Markoishvili as their new head coach and completed the paperwork to add KJ Simpson Jr. to the squad. The 39-year-old tactician will make his debut on the bench this Tuesday when the Lions host SIG Strasbourg at the Sinan Erdem Dome. Simpson joins a unit eager to find its rhythm under the new staff, alongside Oumar Ballo, Vrenz Bleijenbergh, Berkan Durmaz, Yusuf Ersoy, Sehmus Hazer, Nikola Ivanovic, Can Korkmaz, Chimezie Metu, Aleksej Nikolic, Dyshawn Pierre, Jerome Robinson, Efe Sekeroglu, Alen Smailagic, Bugrahan Tuncer, and Zek Tekin.
