Dusko Vujosevic, Limoges’ coach, faced a difficult summer due to some health issues. He was interviewed by  local French newspaper “Le Populaire” and answered clearly about his condition and the importance of basketball in his life.

The coach was hospitalized as a result of a very stressful season. He was surprised when his health started to deteriorate rapidly. Not having success and the fact that my players did not accept my way of working cost me a lot emotionally. I think all this led me to do dialysis.”

His health brought up worry to Limoges, too, as the team staff wasn’t sure if he could resume in the position, though he stood up for himself. “Do not use my condition for negative purposes. Today, I feel better. I thank the medical team of the Limoges hospital.”

As for quitting basketball? The coach has thought about it, but as he states, “Basketball is the best medicine.”
Vujosevic suffers from diabetes. As he says, “Ι need my dose of basketball as much as I need my dose of insulin to survive”. At the end of the season, the coach might be in need of a kidney transplant.
