The Greek national team will look for a return to the podium in the Eurobasket 2017 for the first time after 2009 but, as of now, it’s not sure that Kostas Koufos will be there to help the efforts.
The 28-year-old center of the Sacramento Kings was asked about joining the Greek national team in the tournament and he answered “I don’t know yet if I play,” to Greek Cosmote TV. “It’s a combination of many things. I am a proud Greek-American and I am always proud when I play in the Greek national team. It depends on my health, on personal matters or something else”.
Koufos has played in various Eurobasket tournaments with the Greek national team. He made his debut in Poland, 2009 where Greece won bronze medal.
