Barcelona’s players addressed the rumors of a players-only meeting in order to replace coach Giorgos Bartzokas during the Media Day before the upcoming Copa Del Rey.

“Guys, this is silly, this guy does not deserve it!”, said an angry Ante Tomic as mentioned on Mundo Deportivo.

“I wasn’t in that meeting, and, from what I’ve been told by my teammates, they weren’t either. There’s no reason to talk more about it”, stated the team’s captain, Juan Carlos Navarro.

I do not read those things, I do not care, they are ridiculous. The only thing we have to worry about is the good of the team and that is to be united”, as per Sasha Vezenkov.

Victor Claver mentioned the following: “It is a lie and it is clear that right now that the team is at its worse, it is easy to attack people, both those who play in it and the staff. The only thing we have to do to prove it’s a lie is to play.”

“We are united. Our season is not good at the moment, there is extra pressure on each of us, but this is a great group of kids and we have a great challenge before us”, said Stratos Perperoglou, who also denies the meeting. “I was not invited, I do not know anything about it.”

Tyrese Rice was firm: “A players only meeting? We have not had such meeting all season long. It’s the only thing I have to say.”

Petteri Koponen received the news from a friend: “I saw it but that’s not true, I do not know anything about it. There are a lot of rumors.”
