The summer saga of Adam Hanga’s transfer to Barcelona was once again a story of many episodes but it concluded with the player signing with Blaugrana and expressing his deep content with how things were resolved.

“I’m very happy to play for a team like Barcelona. Ι didn’t think about it when I saw their offer. I signed it immediately,” the Hungarian swingman said in his first comments as a Barcelona player.

The Catalans made quite the renovation this summer. Kevin Seraphin, Thomas Heurtel, Adrien Moermann, Phil Pressey, Rakim Sanders and Pierre Oriola also arrived to create a team that once again will be a force to be reckoned with in EuroLeague and Liga Endesa. Unlike last season when Barca completely failed to reach its goals and didn’t even advance to the EuroLeague playoffs.

“Our squad is very complete. And I hope we have a much better season than the previous one,” said the 2017 EuroLeague DPOY who will not only meet some new faces in “Palau Blaugrana” but also someone he knows very well from the previous year. His Baskonia head coach Sito Alonso.

“Ι know Sito Alonso’s system and I have an advantage with it. Although we will certainly change some systems.”

But the obligations with his new team will be postponed for after the EuroBasket. Hanga can’t wait to join his teammates in Hungary for the country’s first European Championship since 1999. “I really want to start (with Barcelona) but first I have to play with my country in the EuroBasket.”
