Greece managed to silence most of the weapons of the Spanish national team, prevailing 77 – 56 and getting the ticket to the Final in a more or less comfortable manner.

Vassilis Charalambopoulos was once again the top scorer for the tournament’s hosts with 19 points while also adding five assists and four rebounds. Thodoris Karras added 18, while Antonis Koniaris had 10 points and five assists.

Yet the unsung hero of Greece was probably Michail Lountzis who played some excellent defense on Spain’s Santiago Yusta. The Real Madrid forward averaged 17.6 points prior to this match but finished the semifinal with only four and 1/5 from the field.

Sergi Garcia (12 points with 3/13 f.g., 5 rebounds, 4 assists), Marc Martin (12 points, six rebounds) and Ramon Vila (11 points) stood out for the Spaniards that will face France for the bronze medal.
