Greek Basket League club Trikala officially announced the addition of center Sofoklis Schortsanitis for the remainder of the season.

The 32-year-old Greek center had been practicing with the team for the past weeks and his performance during the training sessions convinced the coaching staff that he deserves a spot in the active roster.

A EuroLeague veteran and continental champion in 2014, Schortsanitis has played with such teams as Olympiacos, Maccabi Tel Aviv (with which he won the EuroLeague), Panathinaikos and Crvena Zvezda.

With the Greek national team, he’s won the silver medal in the 2006 World Cup (scoring 14 points in 17 minutes in the semifinal win over Team USA) and bronze in the 2009 EuroBasket.
