Umana Reyer Venezia announced that Edgar Sosa has signed with the club an agreement until the end of the season.

The defending Italian champs added Sosa who was born in New York on January 15, 1988, of Dominican origin (thanks to which he has a double passport, being able to take advantage of the status of Cotonou),

Sosa comes from the Australian championship, where he played in 28 games with the New Zealand Breakers jersey, 27.3 minutes, 15.8 points and 3.8 assists per game.

The Dominican played for four NCAA seasons with the University of Louisville before taking part in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Detroit Pistons and signing with Biella, who made his debut in Serie A in the 2010-11 season.

Sosa returned to Italy in 2014, after the seasons in Portugal (Santurce), Spain (Valladolid) and Germany (Ulm), For Sassari and won the Supercoppa, Coppa Italia and championship title, registering a career high of 40 points with 10/15 from beyond the arc.

After a brief spell with the Atlanta Hawks, he won the Iranian title with Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbor, closing the 2015/16 season in Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem). In 2016/17 he was again in Italy, in Caserta, before moving, at the end of the season, in Lebanon, to Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut, where he won another national title.
