Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo gave for the second time a joint television interview at Greek COSMOTE TV in the “Pick and Roll” show and what they had to say were more than interesting.

With the NBA finals coming up, Giannis was asked about his prediction and his choice had to do with LeBron James: “I pick the Cavs because of LeBron James”.

And of course when he was asked on which of the two contenders he would like to play on the upcoming Finals, if hypothetically he could join them just for two weeks, he added: “To the Cavs. I would like to see what’s he is doing, to learn from him. I would like to be close to him, my goal is this, because it’s like going to school. He said to me “well done, welcome”, when I scored my first bucket in the All-Star Game”.

There’s no love lost between him, the Warriors and Draymond Green after all. Giannis was asked how Green kept him to nine points in the game between them and his response was the following: “He didn’t do it alone, it was team-work. It was like three players guarding me”.

On a personal note he explained: “There was no competition against me in my first year. After the third and fourth year, there are players who are afraid of me. I’m still low-key. I don’t try to do PR with other players. That’s what I learned since I was a kid”. Speaking about what he has learned those four years, he said: “I don’t like to play against Pat Beverley. He is a great guy off the court, but I can’t stand him during the game”. As for the MVP, his answer was simple: “Russell Westbrook”.

The two brothers are organizing again the “Antetokounbros” event, that will be held at Thessaloniki and Athens, Greece, trying to give back to their country. As Thanasis explained: “Our message is simple: We are all bros. United. We may all have a hard time, but we are united and we will get by. This is bigger than basketball. We don’t have to forget our roots and from where we started. Everything will be free, we will not sell tickets. We just want people to enjoy themselves. And we want the world to say that we are having a great time in Greece”.

The “Antetokounbros” event will be organized by Eurohoops and publishing director Nikos Varlas explained: “We didn’t expect what happened last year. I will never forget the full house at “Nick Galis Hall” in Thesaloniki. We never felt before something so real and strong and that’s what we want to repeat this year”.
