Apparently, LaVar Ball needs a good lesson on basketball history.

Lithuanian players have been in the NBA for nearly 30 years. Two of them, legendary Arvydas Sabonis (whose son Domantas has become an established NBAer in his own right) and Sarunas Marculionis, are now members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Lithuanian national team has won numerous medals in Olympic Games, World Cup, and EuroBasket competitions. It is considered one of the very few countries worldwide where basketball is by far the most popular sport.

Apparently, someone forgot to pass these memos to LaVar Ball.

“Lithuania was nothing,” LaVar said to ESPN UK in the most recent of his boisterous rants. “Nobody even heard of Lithuania. That’s all that comes out of your mouth now. Lithuania-Lithuania-Lithuania. Why? Because the Ball boys have reemerged over in Lithuania. Yeah, we put Lithuania on the map.”
