As “El Mundo Deportivo” revealed Barcelona contacted the agents of David Blatt asking if he is interested in returning to Europe next season. As Eurohoops can confirm not only Barcelona, but also Dogus Darussafaka contacted the Israeli-American coach.
However, Blatt who is also a candidate for the coaching job in the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets, is not considering at the moment a return to Europe. The reasons are obvious, however specially a prestigious club like Barcelona can be a very interesting suitor.
On the other hand, Dogus Darussafaka which is expected to have one of the biggest budgets in Europe next season has already advanced talks with Giorgos Bartzokas in order to bring him in Istanbul. The Greek coach is also reported to be among the coaches in the list of Barcelona for next season.
