By Antigoni Zachari / info@eurohoops.net

For the second year straight, Nando De Colo received the honor of the “Best French Basketball Player”, after a unanimous decision (he received 117 out of a total of 120 votes) in the voting that was held on September 7 at the headquarters of the FFBB.

12 voters were invited to present their 10 (1st place), 7 (2nd place) and 5 points (3rd place). The criteria included the performance of players during the 2015/16 season, as well as the 2016 international competitions.

Behind the untouchable De Colo, Thomas Heurtel, who impressed with his performances in the Euroleague and the French national team, came second. Evan Fournier might have missed the Olympics, yet he also convinced voters and came third in the voting.

The Alain Gilles Trophy was handed to Nando De Colo by FFBB President Jean-Pierre Siutat in Athens where CSKA Moscow was preparing for the new Euroleague season.
