Stimac flirting with Aris and Tenerife but waiting for Euroleague

Two FIBA Champions League teams have shown a concrete interest in acquiring Serbian center Vladimir Stimac who is now a free agent after leaving Crvena Zvezda with which he spent the previous season.

Two FIBA Champions League teams have shown a concrete interest in acquiring Serbian center Vladimir Stimac who is now a free agent after leaving Crvena Zvezda with which he spent the previous season.

The 28-year old international player has already received offers from Aris Thessaloniki (Greece) and Iberostar Tenerife (Spain), according to Eurohoops sources. Both teams can provide Stimac with the opportunity to also compete in a continental competition, apart from their countries’ domestic leagues, since the two clubs will participate in the newly established Champions League.

For now, Stimac is going to wait examine all possible options that will appear on his table thoroughly, before reaching a final decision. After all, his priority is to continue playing for a Euroleague club.

Stimac has never seen any action in the Greek Basket League but is experienced in the whereabouts of Liga Endesa since he played for Unicaja Malaga in the 2013/2014 season. He also briefly joined Estudiantes in 2015, stepping on the floor for three games with the Madrilian team.

In the year that passed, Stimac averaged 7 points and 5 rebounds per game in Euroleague along with 7 points and 4.5 rebounds in ABA League. With Crvena Zvezda he won the ABA and Serbian championship titles.
