American forward/center Jarnell Stokes is very close to reaching a final agreement with Lokomotiv Kuban. According to Eurohoops sources, the two sides are finalizing a deal that will bring the 22-year player to Europe for the first time in his career.
Stokes was nothing less than the “king” of the NBA D-League during the previous season. He won the title with the Sioux Falls Skyforce (the Miami Heat league affiliate), being named season MVP, finals MVP and member of the All D-League first team, after averaging 20.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
Coach Fotis Katsikaris’ plan is using Stokes in order to create a “duo” in the team’s line of centers along with Ian Vougioukas. He is still searching for another guard who will undertake scoring duties in the team and to pair up with Mardy Collins.
