All these years, Obradovic was teaching the art of teamwork but this season he built a team that brings him 13 years back.
Andrew Goudelock is the ultimate scorer that leads Fenerbahce so far being the first scorer with 17.1 points per game in the Euroleague. He also attempts the most 2point and 3point shots. We analyzed here that the American guard takes too many shots but it’s also the first time that a player in a team of Zeljko Obradovic scores so many points.
After Dejan Bodiroga nobody in Panathinaikos or Fenerbahce last season scored so many points. That’s of course logical because Goudelock attempts the 21.3% of Fenerbahce’s shots and he made the 39% of his teams’ 3point shots!
Obradovic is used to create teams with balanced scoring among guards and centers and without a super star who conquers in the offense. During the last dozen of seasons he coached many talented players but always he was “settling down” their killing instincts and was transforming them to pieces of a well working machine. The last one who was really a “killer” shooting and scoring more than anyone else was Dejan Bodiroga. But everything changes. Even Zoc…
