The ABA League will be waiting to see the plan of EuroLeague regarding the potential resumption of the 2019-2020 season before taking any decisions on how the Adriatic championship will be concluded.

“If there were no playoffs and entrance to EuroLeague, it would be easy for all of us to make a decision and surely the ABA League would be over 20 days ago,” Mornar Bar president and ABA League vice president Djordje Pavicevic said per Mozzart.

The ABA League was shut down “until further notice” on March 12, the same day that EuroLeague also suspended its activities. There was one game remaining in the ABA regular season.

Pavicevic’s Mornar Bar was tied with Cedevita Olimpija at the fourth place in the standings and would fight for the last available playoff spot. The ABA champion has a priority for one of EuroLeague’s annual wild cards.

“It’s obvious that our hands are tied and that we will not be able to make any smart decision at this time,” Pavicevic said. We are waiting for the EuroLeague to come soon with its game plan. That will be the backbone to bring the ABA League to a finish.”
