Mornar Bar remains in pursuit of top-placed Crvena Zvezda.

Mornar Bar won the first of the two big ABA League battles (the other is Sunday’s match between Crvena Zvezda and Buducnost) for Round 9 thanks to a tough layup by Isaiah Whitehead.

Mornar Bar – Partizan Belgrade 77 – 76

Isaiah Whitehead scored 16 points, including the game-winner, grabbed five rebounds and sent four assists to his teammates as Mornar Bar prevailed over Partizan Belgrade in overtime. Jacob Pullen dropped a team-high 19 points for the winning side and Taylor Smith added 10 points and seven rebounds.

For Partizan, Codi Miller-Mc Intyre had a game-high 21 points, six rebounds and four assists. Nemanja Gordic and Marcus Paige posted 12 and 10 points respectively.

Igokea – Borac 73 – 71

Speaking about game-winning plays, Edin Atic delivered the block on Anthony Smith’s putback attempt and Igokea beat Borac. Atic finished with 13 points and six rebounds while Nikola Jovanovic had 16 points plus eight rebounds and Marko Josilo 16 points as well.

Nemanja Todorovic scored 17 points and got five boards for Borac.

Cibona – FMP 93-80

Ivan Novacic sank seven threes for 28 points and Filip Bundovic threw in 20 more points to snap a three-game losing streak for the Croatian outlet. Okben Ulubay finished with 16 points for the visitors.

Mega Soccerbet – Split 91-75

Promising upstart Filip Petrusev returned to action for a 32-point outing powered by 14/18 field goals. The outplayed Croatian outlet had Sani Campara punching in a team-high 12 points.

Crvena Zvezda – Buducnost Voli 65-67

Buducnost ended Zvezda’s winning streak with a big victory on the road, to stay perfect in the standings. Nikola Ivanovic led all Buducnost scorers with 20 points, Justin Cobbs had 11 and Melvin Ejim added 10.

On the other end of the court, Dejan Davidovac paced the hosts with 13 points and Taylor Rochestie had 11 points.

Krka – Koper Primorska 74-57

Roderick Camphor led the winning side to their second straight victory with 15 points, Rok Stipsevic posted 14 points and Jure Skific added 11 points.

Urban Durnik led the visitors with a game-high 19-point performance.
