Igokea ties the series against Crvena Zvezda, Buducnost sweeps Mornar

Igokea kept the dream alive as they tie the ABA League semifinal series against Crvena Zvezda with an impressive display while Buducnost got past Mornar and to the Finals

Igokea put on an outstanding ‘underdog’ season in the Basketball Champions League and they have been doing so in the ABA League as well.

The Bosnian team is facing off against Crvena Zvezda in the semifinals and, after falling the first time, they responded with an 81-68 home win to tie the series at 1-1. Game 3 on May 11th will decide the victors.

Igokea was firing on all cylinders early on as they started off with an 18-4 run and reach a 21-point lead in the third quarter (65-44) which Zvezda’s late comeback effort couldn’t overcome.

Anthony Clemmons was the leading scorer for the winning team with 18 points followed by Edin Atic with 17 and Stefan Pot with 14 points, Steven Gray added 11.

For Crvena Zvezda, Ognjen Dobric scored 17 including some late shots to try and keep hopes alive while Dejan Davidovac scored 12. Jordan Loyd and Marko Simonovic had 11 each.

Meanwhile, Buducnost VOLI got the job done against Mornar Bar with a 92-81 win as they sweep the series 2-0 and will await the opponent in the Final.

Justin Cobbs led the way with 21 points while Amedeo Della Valle scored 17 and Willie Reed 14 points. On the opposing side, Derek Needham scored 16 in addition to Taylor Smith’s 12 and Nemanja Vranjes’s 11 points.
