Crvena Zvezda tipped off the finals with a win over Buducnost

Ognjen Dobric and Jordan Loyd powered Crvena Zvezda to an 82-78 win against Buducnost in Game 1 of the 2020-21 ABA League finals.

Dobric exited the court with 23 points and 5 rebounds while Loyd also dropped 23 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists to help their team escape with their first win in the series. Dejan Davidovac added 12 points and Ognjen Kuzmic had 5 points and a game-high of 11 rebounds.

Peter Popovic made it a two-point game for Buducnost with 27 seconds remaining in the game, though a foul awarded on Loyd along with a pair of free throws helped Zvezda seal the win.

Willie Reed led the Podgorica side with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds and Nikola Ivanovic had 16 points and 10 assists.

Game 2 of the finals takes place Tuesday (18/5, 20:30 CET).
