Despite missing Austin Hollins, Crvena Zvezda mts overcomes Buducnost VOLI

A dominating fourth quarter sends Crvena Zvezda mts to the win, 71-63, versus Buducnost VOLI, on Monday.

Luka Mitrovic was the top scorer of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Round 2 game with 19 points behind 7/10 two-pointers. Ognjen Kuzmic and Nikola Kalinic both threw in 13 more points.

Austin Hollins was ruled out after his injury in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 1 contest opposite Fenerbahce Beko in Istanbul. Other missing players beyond injured Aaron White and Branko Lazic also extended to Maik Zirbes out due to COVID-19.

The team led by Dejan Radonjic will be heading to Israel to face Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv Thursday. The next ABA match is also on the road, against Igokea Sunday.

Buducnost fell to 1-1 after being outscored, 26-16, in the fourth quarter at Belgrade. D.J. Seeley tied the game-high 19 points, Willie Reed had 15 points and Vladimir Micov put in 11 points for the Montenegrin side.

Earlier, Cibona beat Mega, 89-84, in overtime. Nathan Reuvers posted a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double. Jose Vildoza followed with 23 points. The winning side went up to 2-0.

Partizan NIS and Cedevita Olimpija are also enjoying a 2-0 start to the 2021-22 season.
