A big win over archrival Partizan NIS for Crvena Zvezda mts

Crvena Zvezda mts led from start to finish securing the win, 71-56, against Partizan NIS at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Sunday evening.

Big man Luka Mitrovic developed to the leading player with 16 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Round 8 game. Ognjen Dobric had 15 points and Nikola Kalinic finished with 14 points rounding up the double-digit scoring showings. Aaron White and Stefan Lazarevic were sidelined, while Stefan Markovic lasted only four minutes without getting on the board in his debut.

Partizan led by Zeljko Obradovic fell into a double-digit hole at halftime and failed to recover after the break. The lead peaked at 21 points midway through the fourth period. Alen Smailagic registered a team-high 15 points in the losing effort. Dallas Moore put up 14 points.

The team coached by Dejan Radonjic caught the Belgrade rival at 7-1 on top of the ABA standings. Following at 6-2 are Buducnost VOLI and FMP, Further down the table, Cedevita Olimpija and Cibona have started the 2021-22 Regular Season with five wins in eight games.

Coming up for Crvena Zvezda, the next two-game week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season with visits at Bitci Baskonia and Real Madrid Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Partizan will host Liektabelis on Wednesday looking to bounce back after a couple of losses in four days following a ten-game perfect start to the season between ABA and 7DAYS EuroCup.
