Austin Hollins scored 18 points and Nikola Ivanovic drained the winning free throws as Crvena Zvezda beat Cedevita Olimpija 83 – 82 on the road to remain the undisputed boss in the 2021-22 ABA League with a 14 – 1 record.
After a game full of ups and downs by both teams and multiple lead changes, Cedevita gained an 80 – 75 advantage with two minutes to play thanks to a 3-pointer by Yogi Ferrell. Ivanovic answered with the same currency, Alen Omic dunked the ball and Hollins hit a triple of his own for the 82 – 81.
Ivanovic won the foul to put Red Star up with five seconds remaining. On the other end, Ferrell missed in his game-winning attempt and the Serbian side escaped Ljubljana with a big win.
Jaka Blazic finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for Cedevita. Auguste had 13 points plus seven rebounds and Omic scored 12. Their team dropped to 9 – 6.
Nate Wolters contributed 14 points plus five assists in Zvezda’s win.
