A powerful offense and a strong second half marked the Game 1 win for Red Star.

Crvena Zvezda beat Cedevita Olimpija 93 – 82 to assume a 1-0 advantage in the ABA League best-of-three semifinal series. Red Star never trailed in the game and led up to 16 points in the fourth period.

Luka Mitrovic scored a game-high 21 points while grabbing seven rebounds to lead the way for Zvezda. Nikola Kalinic added 17 points plus six assists and Nikola Ivanovic dropped 16 points.

Jaka Blazic (20 points, five rebounds, five assists) and Edo Muric (14 points) stood out from Cedevita. The Slovenian side remained close for 25 minutes but fell behind by double figures at the end of the third period, never to fully recover.

Game 2 will take place in Ljubljana Monday (16/5). It will be a must-win for Cedevita in order to force a Game 3 while Zvezda will want to punch the ticket to the Finals without a return back to Belgrade.
