In just the second game of his professional career, Fatts Russell registered a new all-time ABA League scoring record with 47 points to lead Mornar Bar to a 100 – 91 win over Zadar at home. The 24-year-old American point guard passed teammate Vladimir Mihailovic, who had a 46-point display last season.

Russell shot 6-13 2-pointers, 7-18 triples, and hit 14-16 free throws. He also produced four rebounds, four assists and four steals and didn’t commit any turnover during the 35:06 minutes he spent on the floor, in a phenomenal performance overall.

A week ago, Russell began his pro career by posting 41 points in a 91 – 83 victory for Mornar Bar at Igokea. A sign of things to come, apparently.

In July, the Philadelphia-born Russell signed with Mornar Bar in Montenegro to begin his professional journey overseas. He had declared for the 2022 NBA Draft but wasn’t selected by any club.

From 2007 to 2021, Russell played college basketball for the Rhode Island Rams. He then spend one year with the Maryland Terrapins.
