Starting from the current 2023/24 season, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy of the ABA League for each Regular Season will be named in honor of the late Dejan Milojevic.
This decision, made through unanimous votes from the shareholders, pays homage to Milojevic’s outstanding contributions as a player and coach.
“The late Dejan Milojević, a former FMP Soccerbet, Buducnost VOLI, and Partizan Mozzart Bet player, who also used to coach Mega MIS and Buducnost VOLI in the AdmiralBet ABA League, was a player, coach, and most importantly a great man. He gave us many legendary memories both on and off the court. As a player, he set AdmiralBet ABA League records that are still standing to this day – Milojevic has earned himself the honor of being the top scorer of the AdmiralBet ABA League in the season 2004/05, and to this date, he holds the league record in the single-game valuation, which he set on 3 January 2004 in the game of his Budućnost VOLI against Lovcen (59). Throughout his career, he was the AdmiralBet ABA League MVP for 3 seasons in a row.
Following a stellar playing career Milojević transitioned to coaching and twice led his teams to the AdmiralBet ABA League Finals – Mega MIS in 2016 and Budućnost VOLI in 2021.
Now the memory of the legendary player and coach becomes eternal, as the NLB MVP of each Regular Season will be awarded the Dejan Milojević trophy,” per the official announcement.
