Partizan Belgrade couldn’t qualify for the EuroLeague Play-Ins or the EuroLeague Playoffs, but the Serbian black-and-white club is advancing through the ABA League Playoffs.

Sweeping Spartak Office Shoes 2-0 in the Quarter-Final series, Partizan will now face the winner of the other series between Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana and BC Dubai. In the post-game press conference following his team’s decisive win in the series, Zeljko Obradovic touched on several topics.

“There are a lot of good teams in the ABA league. You have Dubai, Spartak, and Buducnost, two EuroLeague teams that play very well. Mega and Zadar also showed a lot; they fought. There was quality. There is no talk of easy games. The question now is what will happen next year,” he opened.

“Probably even Houdini doesn’t know. European basketball has a big problem. I hope that people who run basketball will sit down and find a solution to make it better than it is now.”

“There were good things, but it should be even better. We all want the halls to be full because basketball is played for the sake of the fans,” Zeljko Obradovic also said, hoping for a better environment within the Old Continent for the growth of the sport.

Moreover, the experienced head coach also spoke about his team’s current form. “We are in a strange situation and a rhythm that is not usual. We have players who were out of the team due to injuries for about ten days. It is not easy for them either. It is important that everyone has the desire to play.”

“Now we had a break for seven days because Spartak played in the KLS. We are trying to find the right solutions because we have never trained for six days in a row, not even during preparations. We are preparing as best we can. I guess everyone must have the motivation to train properly and play properly.”
