With a very surprising outcome, Crvena Zvezda lost by 34 points (104-70) to Buducnost VOLI in Montenegro to start the ABA League Semi-Finals in a crazy atmosphere.
Rasheed Sulaimon led the way with 24 points for Buducnost, while on Zvezda, nobody scored more than 11 points. But the on-court action got overshadowed by a huge interruption.
At 7:43 on the clock in the third quarter, a fight for the ball on the court quickly escalated, as fans from the home arena started throwing objects towards the floor and Crvena Zvezda‘s bench, mainly. That led to an interruption of the game, as the red-and-white team’s players left the court.
Ultimately, it was found out that screws and glasses were thrown towards the opponents, and a vast majority of the stands got emptied before the game could get back to action.
As the arena was warned it would have been cleared of all people in the stands if objects were thrown again, the game restarted, but Crvena Zvezda couldn’t find a way to get back into it.
The other matchup of the night also ended up in a blowout win by the home team, as Partizan Belgrade had a 30-point victory over Dubai to start the ABA League Semi-Finals.
